Seat Size Chart
The following size chart is a general guideline, and adjustments may be needed based on individual preferences and specific riding disciplines. It's recommended to try saddles in person to identify a comfortable seat size:
Rider Height | Rider Weight | English Seat Size | Western Seat Size |
4'10" - 5'1" | Up to 100 lbs | 15 - 15.5 inches | 13 - 14 inches |
5'2" - 5'5" | 100-130 lbs | 16 - 16.5 inches | 14 - 15 inches |
5'6" - 5'9" | 130-160 lbs | 17 - 17.5 inches | 15 - 16 inches |
5'10" - 6'1" | 160-190 lbs | 18 inches and above | 16 - 17 inches |
6'2" and up | 190 lbs and up | Consider individual fit | 17 inches and above |
Saddle Sizing Considerations
- English saddle seat sizes generally range from 15 to 18 inches.
- Western saddle seat sizes generally range from 13 to 18 inches.
- Saddles with flat seats or low cantle heights will feel bigger. Saddles with deep seats or high cantle heights will feel smaller.
- Rider height and weight are important considerations, but personal comfort is key. If you are very tall and thin, you may want to go up in size for leg comfort.
- If you are considering a Tucker saddle, it is recommended to go up in size rather than down.
- Consult with a saddle fitter or experienced rider for additional insights.
